life cycle of a darkling beetle

Here is a mealworm. It is still in the larva stage. It has shedded it's skin. Do you see it on the right?

This shows a pupa. Inside the mealworm is changing into a beetle. You can see it's shedded skin too.

Here is a new beetle. It's still very light colored. It is young.

This is an adult darkling beetle. It is much darker in color, almost black. It will live for only one year.
